WIDTHS β Kimberlite tire widths meet current global standards set by E.T.R.T.O. following their designated design size rim widths. 35 and 40mm tires are designed for rims with 23mm internal widths while 45, 47, and 50mm tires are designed for 25mm internal width rims. The use of narrower or wider rims will change the overall width of the tire. RIM FIT - Kimberlite tires follow current dimensions set by E.T.R.T.O. and ISO 5775. These specifications improve rider safety through functional pairing of tires and rims that both meet these standards. The resulting tighter tolerances also lead to a tighter fit on rims. This may require some users to change their installation process from what they used with tires and rims that followed previous standards.

Stage 5S Armor is American Classic's gravel specific tire construction combining 120 TPI casing fabrics, Rubberforce G tread compounds, a tubeless ready coating, and a Nylon105 bead-to-bead fabric that provides a tire that is lighter, faster, and more cut, tear, and abrasion resistant than our original Stage 5S Flat Protection.

Rubberforce G is our family of tread compounds designed for American Classic gravel tires. The high structure and high specific surface area (SSA) of the carbon black provide excellent abrasion resistance, high tensile strength, and good tear and cut resistance for off-road adventures. The final compounds are specific to the intended riding type of the specific tire model.

Q. Why does my tire size not match the listed size?
A. Tire size is dependent on the width of your rim. Use on a narrow rim will cause the tire to be narrower than listed. And mounting on a wider rim will cause the tire to measure wider. Rim sizes are listed in the chart below.
Q. How does Tubeless Ready differ from Tubeless?
A. Tubeless Ready ready tires are lighter weight, and more supple, than traditional tubeless tires. Tubeless Ready tires require the use of tubeless sealants to properly seal and retain air pressure.
Q. Will these tires be difficult to install?
A. American Classic tires follow the latest global industry standard for size and fitment and are intended to be mounted on rims that follow those same standards. Up until around the year 2000 a few popular US wheel brands were making rims that were oversized. Mounting our standards based tires on those oversizes rims will require greater effort than mounting to industry standard rims.
Q. Can this tire be mounted to hookless rims?
A. This tire is compatible with hookless rims, also know as TSS in global standards. When mounting on hookless rims, be sure to use compatible rim widths for the specific tire width and never exceed the maximum air pressure for the tire or rim, whichever number is lower.
Q. What is the brown stripe on my brown tire?
A. American Classic's brown tires use a 'clear' rubber which allows the overlap of material along the bead to be visible as a darker, angled stripe. This is normal and will not affect ride quality or longevity.
